Thank you for your interest in joining, reactivating or transferring your membership with the Nu Iota Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

Candidacy for membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is by invitation only and open to women of high ethical and scholastic standards who have obtained an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university. Our chapter hosts several public events, such as forums, and social activities, so that prospective candidates can become acquainted with our chapter members and learn about the services we offer to local our community. Reactivating/Transferring Membership
For members reactivating or transferring into Nu Iota Omega, we welcome you with open arms. Please be sure to complete the Reactivation Form or Transfer Verification Form found on the National website . If you have any questions , please contact our Membership Chairperson by emailing .

Monthly Chapter Meeting
Monthly chapter meetings are open to duly initiated members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Proof of membership is required and must be verified prior to entering the meeting. Meeting time and location is as follows:

Every third Saturday
10:00 A.M.
Denton Johnson Community Center, 400 Ruffel Street, Maitland, FL 32751

Note: There are no meetings held in July and August. Location is subject to change. Please view the Events Calendar to confirm.

In accordance with the National Standard Operating Guidelines and/or Chapter Protocol, visiting members are asked to provide two forms of identification for meeting entry. Primary identification may include any government issued ID. Secondary identification may include, but are not limited to:

  • A current or past financial card (in most cases, the name listed should match the primary ID; exceptions: maiden name, married name)
  • A copy of your original membership certificate signed by our Corporate Office
  • A receipt from a Cluster, Regional Conference or Boule that contains your name
  • An invitation from an attending chapter member

Business attire is required for chapter meetings. Business attire does not include jeans, t-shirts, or sneakers. If you have any questions, please contact the Membership Committee at .
